VOCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT TRAINERS
Carmen Barrio Huaman has spent a life dedicated to the art and study of Andean Textiles. Her training and qualifications come primarily from the Asociación Regional de Productores Ecologistas del Cusco (ARPEC) although she attributes much of her knowledge to the people she has met and the earth she has walked upon. She is very active in the area of traditional andean fashion and serves as director for several major related events in the Cusco area. She teaches young and old not only traditional methods of artistic textile production but also offers workshops in innovation and market expansion. She offered classes through WAA throughout the region of Cusco for eleven months in 2007-2008. Carmen currently lives in Cajamarca with her four children.
